Billy Brownless
Billy Brownless

Billy Brownless was an exciting forward for Geelong for over ten years.

Third on Geelong's all-time goalkicking list behind Gary Ablett and Doug Wade, Brownless initially established himself as full forward during the team's free-scoring days in the late eighties and early nineties.

Despite four Grand Final appearances, Brownless never played in a winning side, going close in 1989 when he played at full forward in Geelong's epic Grand Final against Hawthorn.

Brownless contended with a number of injuries in the final years of his career, announcing his retirement at the end of 1997, finishing the career of one of Geelong's most effervescent characters.

He now pursues an active media career with involvement on the following high profile programs:

  • GTV 9's The Footy Show, where Billy forms part of the Logie-award winning cast to preview the weekend of AFL ahead. Billy also appears in the show's popular soap "The House of Bulger".
  • He also appears on the Sunday Footy Show panel to review the weekends' games.
  • Co-host of Morning Glory, the weekday breakfast program on 24-hour Melbourne sports-talk station SEN with ESP's Garry Lyon and Tim Watson.
  • He also teams up with Lyon and Watson on Up Country Punt, a footy radio show for Country Australia heard on over 25 radio stations nationally
  • Billy also works in Marketing at the Geelong Football Club, playing an important role in raising funds for the club.

Billy is married to Nicky and has four kids. Billy is an entertaining speaker, who will bring some fun and frivolity to your evening. He is a great story teller, which will amuse and captivate any audience.
