Former star Footballer and TV co-host, Doug Hawkins is one of the real characters of Australian Rules Football.
As a footballer during the 1980's and early 90's, "The Hawk" as he was known was a champion Footscray Footballer (over 16 years) whose dogged determination made him the most beloved player throughout the Western Suburbs. On his retirement he increased his media commitments through the highest rating Channel 9 "Footy Show" and radio station 3MMM.
A tribute to his playing talents, Doug was inducted into the AFL Hall of Fame, and is considered a true champion down at ‘doggieland’.
His performances on the "Footy Show" led to him being one of the most sought after football personalities which in turn saw him being recruited by Channel 7 to co-host "Live and Kicking".
Doug is a consummate story-teller, who often has his audiencing in fits of laughter. Known as a bit of an Aussie larrikin, his honesty and frank account of life in the A.F.L. is legendary. His ‘pull no punches’ approach to speaking will keep your guests entertained, Doug calls ‘a spade, a spade’!
